January Overview

31 January 2015

January, the first month of the year. I thought it was fitting to start a monthly overview of all the blog posts I had written for the month, and as it's the 31st of January (seriously, where does the time go!?) I wanted to revisit my previous blog posts. Just in case you missed any blog posts on Lacee & Lattes, you can now click the link of the post below, have a little read, and maybe let me know how you liked it.

The Best Eyelash Glue (It's Only $10!)

29 January 2015

I've only recently hopped onto the false eyelash bandwagon, and even though I don't wear them very often, I have to admit, they definitely add something special to an otherwise ordinary makeup look. Almost as if it's the icing on top of the cake. Now, it's quite easy to go out, buy a pair of lashes and put them on (not that easy actually), but even though they look great 5 minutes after you put them on, the real test is whether or not they last the entire night. This is where your glue comes in, and today I'm bringing you an option that is not DUO glue, and is also more affordable, so sit tight!

A Great $3 Eye Primer & A Crap $60 Mascara

25 January 2015

I'm a firm believer of price does not equal to quality, and since I love to bring you all affordable products that work wonderfully, I've decided to tell you all about a product that is definitely NOT worth your $60. But since I like to be positive and optimistic, I'm also going to talk about an eye primer that's cheap as chip and works just as well as a high end eye primer.

A Foundation Tip You Need to Know

20 January 2015

My skin is my worst enemy, sometimes it's so oily that I can probably make a cool living off of it, and sometimes it's so dry that no amount of moisturiser can repair my flaky skin. I'm not sure if anyone else goes through these skin issues, but I have a way to solve it. This tip is for those of you who have oily skin, but also for those who have dry skin, and ever since I started applying this to my own makeup routine, my makeup has never looked better. All you need is a liquid or cream foundation, and a facial oil.

Top Workout Videos

17 January 2015

If you ask anyone what their new year resolution is, they'll most definitely mention working out, and while we usually workout for the first week, by the second week we end up back on our couch eating Oreos. I've been working out religiously for about a month now, and while I do have a gym membership, I lack motivation to actually go there, which is why YouTube is my best friend. By watching workout videos, I've seen effective results in the comfort of my own home and it's free! Before I get into this I would like to say that I do not exercise to lose weight, as I'm naturally thin, so I exercise to tone up my body and build muscle. Of course, these workouts are great to lose weight also, and you can modify them according to your level and needs.

Z By Zegna

13 January 2015

I don't usually write blog posts on fragrance, and that's because I always think "well, what am I going to write about?" I'm hopeless at describing scents and notes, but I knew that this men's cologne was an exception. I HAD to write about it because to put it simply, it is the best smelling cologne I have ever come across. No, I do not use it myself in case you're wondering, but if you have a man in your life, or you're a man who is reading this write now, then run and grab this right after you finish reading. It is so good that it has practically become a ritual for me to make every guest who comes over smell this cologne, only because I want to see their reaction of pure and utter bliss.

L'Occitane Mini Hand Creams

11 January 2015

I'm a huge fan of L'Occitane. They make the best hand creams and foot creams, and trust me, I've tried a lot. You see, I suffer from eczema, and when my hands are dry then it's a nightmare as it makes my eczema even worse, so I always have to have hand cream on handy. Recently I paid a visit to my nearest L'Occitane store to stock up on my favourite shea butter hand cream, and when I went to pay for my item, they offered me this cute tin of mini hand creams for $5. Would you have said no? Probably not, which is why I bought it. It's an investment really, I mean, if I didn't spend it on this, then I would have spent my hard earned $5 on food instead.

Rosehip Oils: Which Ones Work?

6 January 2015

I've tried a lot of rosehip oils, and I haven't always had the best experience with them. The first time I used rosehip oil, it didn't do anything for my skin. Didn't give a glow, didn't remove acne scarring and hyper-pigmentation, nada. The next one I tried ended up making my skin breakout, so I went off that one almost immediately. But after staying away from rosehip oils because of my traumatic past, I ended up discovering one that I loved, so the truth is, not all rosehip oils are bad, you just need to find one that suits you. That goes in accordance with this post as well, what worked for me may not exactly work for you, but in my opinion, these 3 oils include the best and the worst.

A Peek Inside My Summer Makeup Bag

4 January 2015

Summer is well and truly upon us. I say this because it's 37 degrees here in Sydney and judging by the sweat beads forming on my forehead, I can confidently say that it's hot. When it comes to the heat my makeup becomes simplified. No more heavy matte foundations, or smokey eye shadows, I like everything to be light and fresh. For foundation I'll use only a dot on my entire face, for eye makeup I'll add a slick of mascara and I'm out the door. Today I'm going to show you a little sneak peek inside my summer makeup bag.

Affordable My-Lips-But-Better Lipstick

2 January 2015

I think the number #1 thing I'm always on the hunt for is a lipstick I can wear everyday, or in other terms, a "my-lips-but-better" lipstick. A lipstick I can throw on for when I'm in a hurry, and I know it won't look strange with a smokey eye, or if we look on the opposite side of the spectrum, a natural look. Many people told me to check out NARS Dolce Vita, so I went to Mecca Maxima and tried it out, and I loved it. The price tag? Not so much. To be honest, I was still planning on purchasing it because I knew I would get a ton of use out of it, until I came across an option that cost $4.75!
